PRODUCT INFO

All Gray Green Goods products are made in-house, from dyeing, to cutting, to sewing and finishing. I take great care to source materials that are environmentally-friendly and well-made. All of the fabrics I use are 100% linen or cotton, with the exception of the dropcloth fabric (used for floor pillows), which is 85% cotton/25% polyester. All zippers I use are YKK brand—well-made and reliable (no one likes a stuck zipper). For my dyed products I use natural dyes, I try to minimize water use, and I dump the used water buckets in my garden whenever possible. A few of my products (plant pots, patchwork pillows, pennant flags and sachets) are the result of trying to use as many textile scraps as possible. I also try to use environmentally-friendly packing materials as much as possible, and I'm always thinking about better ways to minimize materials and waste. If you have any specific questions about my processes and materials, feel free to send me an email anytime.

Please note: hand dyed and hand printed items are made to order, and there will be variations in pattern and color. Each piece is dyed or printed individually, and is unique, which is why we love the handmade process! And while we work very hard to represent each item accurately in the photos online, the actual item may look slightly different than the photos.

PRODUCT CARE

NATURALLY DYED ZIP BAGS:
Spot clean with mild soap (hard scrubbing may rub off some of the dye). Delicate wash cold. Do not use bleach. Air dry. Iron with a cloth in between.

NATURALLY DYED PILLOWS:
Fabric is pre-washed before dyeing and is washed thoroughly after dyeing. Spot clean with mild soap and water (hard scrubbing may rub off some of the dye). Machine wash separately as necessary (may fade slightly): delicate wash cold. Do not use bleach. Air dry, then iron with a cloth in between. May fade a little if exposed to direct sunlight.

STITCHED PILLOWS:
Spot clean with mild soap and water. For denim fabric: scrubbing may rub off some of the denim dye. Machine wash as necessary: delicate wash cold; wash with like colors. Do not use bleach. Air dry, then iron with a cloth in between.

BLOCKPRINTED SHAPE PILLOWS:
Spot clean with mild soap and water. Do not use bleach. Air dry.

STITCHED TABLE LINENS:
Spot clean with mild soap and water. For denim fabric: scrubbing may rub off some of the denim dye. Machine wash as necessary: delicate wash cold; wash with like colors. Do not use bleach. Air dry, then iron with a cloth in between.

NATURALLY DYED PLANT POTS:
Take plant out of fabric pot to water. If loose dirt is in pot, turn pot inside out and shake. Hand wash with mild soap. Do not use bleach. Air dry. Iron with a cloth in between.

NATURALLY DYED SACHETS:
Spot clean with mild soap and water. Do not immerse in water. Squeezing periodically will freshen the scent.

NATURALLY DYED WINDSOCKS:
Your Koinobori windsock is meant to change over time in nature. It will fade when exposed to sun and rain, and the eyes and tails will fray a little. To keep it darker, hang it from a covered porch or umbrella, and/or bring it in when not in use. Care: Spot clean by hand with mild soap and water. If necessary, it can be washed in a washing machine, on a delicate setting. I recommend washing it in its muslin bag, because of the metal swivel, and letting the Koinobori air dry.

NATURALLY DYED PENNANT FLAGS:
Spot clean by hand with mild soap and water. Flags have raw edges, so some fraying might occur. Cotton canvas and hemp cord are very durable and water-resistant, but not impervious, to the elements.
